Glad you could drop in today dylan, that means all four of us have touched base on the first day, i'm sure we will have many more supporters joining us when they realise that the Rhinos are way out front :D

It will be interesting to see some proper reports or the scorecard, if Vusi Sibanda got 130, Friday Kasteni 67 was it ?, and Graeme Cremer 62, then the rest didn't do very much, either that or only one of the 60's is correct.
I have great hopes for the spin twins, Brighton Mugochi and Cremer, especially if Ed Rainsford, Taurai Muzarabani and i guess Michael Chinouya, can make the breakthroughs, not sure about the length of our tail though.
Our 1st XI, i would have thought that it would be
Sibanda, Chapungu, Chinouya, Cremer, Kasteni, Mahlunge, Mugochi, Muzarabani, Rainsford, Waller & Nyathi/Mire for this game with Taylor for Nyathi/Mire as soon as he's available.
With the number of players that aren't yet signed up to franchises, i'd hope that we are still to make some more signings, my wish list would include the likes of Dion Ebrahim and Tinash Panyangara with the likes of Steady Musoso, who seemed to be making progress last season, for the future.
When the National side are together we'll have some big gaps with Sibanda, Cremer, Rainsford, Waller and Taylor away, it will be interesting to see whether the likes of Nyathi and Mire are up to the task.

Thanks to maehara we have ZC day 2 updates on the match threads of both games.
Excellent news for all rampant Rhinos, we have got Tuskers 8 down and still 95 behind at this stage with Graeme Cremer taking 4 wickets so far. A good first 2 days, hopefully the beginning of many good days :D

think we wont be without Waller considering the form thats hes in, another worry is the soloman Mire is planning to leave at the end of october for Australia cricket acadamy.

I see that Tendai Chitongo, who was originally listed by cricinfo as a Rhinos squad member, played for Southern Rocks in their Faithwear match against Mountaineers.
With only Simbarashe Gupo, Tafadzwa Mpofu, Alex Mavhiko, Luther Mutyambizi and Tarisai Mahlunge in reserve from that original squad list, when the National players are taken away we will be rather short unless other players have been identified.
I can't imagine that Andy Waller isn't on top of the situation, so it will be interesting to see who may appear during the season.

Meanwhile, Midwest Rhinos coach Andy “Bundu” Waller is a happy man as his team is yet to concede defeat in both the Logan Cup and the Faithwear Clothing one-day competition.
They have played four matches at home, two in the Logan Cup and the same number in the Faithwear and have not lost any of those encounters.
The Vusumuzi Sibanda captained Rhinos beat Matabeleland Tuskers by 135 runs in their first Logan Cup match before they fought out for a draw against Mashonaland Eagles.
In the Faithwear series, the Rhinos trumped the Tuskers by 61 runs before they sensationally beat the Eagles by three runs last Sunday.
In the Logan Cup match against Mashonaland Eagles, the Rhinos were lucky to get away with a draw. Centuries from Kasteni and Brendan Taylor saw the hosts post 344 in their first innings. The visitors made 380 runs with an unbeaten 156 runs from Foster Mutizwa.
“I am delighted at the way things have gone so far for us. I think Matabeleland Tuskers played good cricket and we still beat them. In the four-day match against Mashonaland Mutizwa batted really well and we tried our best to get him out without success.
“I still believed we were not going to lose that match and we just batted through for a draw,” said Waller.
Mashonaland Eagles blew up a chance to record their first win in the Faithwear series. Set a target of 253 runs, Mashonaland Eagles seemed like they were on course for victory. Four runs were required to win the match with Admire Manyumwa and Tino Mutombodzi the last batting pair for Mashonaland Eagles at the crease.
Mutombodzi set off for a run that was never there and Sibanda sent in the ball for wicketkeeper Taylor to run him out to spark wild celebrations from a sizeable crowd that came to watch the match.
“In the one-day match we fought all the way and were lucky to get away with that win, we capitalised on their mistakes,” said Waller.
One of the batsman who has not scored runs is the coach’s son, Malcolm who was the leading run scorer in the Logan Cup last season. He was out for first ball duck last Sunday after having been dismissed without scoring during the Rhinos’ second innings in the four-day match.
The coach believes the right-handed batsman is just going through a bad patch and will come through soon.
The Rhinos who have a bye in the third round of both the Logan Cup and the Faithwear series resumed training last Wednesday ahead of their away matches against the Masvingo based Southern Rocks.

Three Rhinos representatives in todays Intercontinental Cup match in Kwekwe then, Vusi Sibanda as captain, Friday Kasteni and Ed Rainsford. It doesn't look as though it was one of Ed's best ever days as they are showing 9 no balls and 4 wides against his name while his figures at the end of day 1 were 12-2-57-1.
I was convinced that Ed, Graeme Cremer and Brendan Taylor would all be in the ODI squad, with Vusi and Malcolm Waller as outside chances, it ends up that we have Graeme, Brendan and Malcolm selected and Ed left out with Vusi !
Hopefully Brighton Mugochi will be able to take up the slack left by Graeme, but i'm not sure who is going to score the runs that we would expect Brendan to get while the squad are away in Bangladesh, hopefully our skipper will find his form again.

A superb performance from him which is the only reason that Kenya were beaten, take his 2 innings out and there's not much else.
Not so good from Friday Kasteni, 9 & 0, while Ed Rainsford looked a bit wild with 15 no balls and 4 wides from his 1-61 & 2-25.
Brendan Taylor, Graeme Cremer and Malcolm Waller will all be hoping for some action on monday when the 1st ODI gets underway, hopefully Vusi will have recovered by wednesday for the Logan Cup match in Masvingo, and be in the mood for lots more runs, i'm interested to see what side we will put out with our 3 National players missing.
