The feeling is mutual Zimfan1. I've seen some excellent Zimbabwe under 19 sides in the past, icluding Taylor, Taibu, Gremer, Campbell Macmillan etc. But this squad has got great balance. And it's nice to see that there's a nice combination of black and white players,:) that's always great to see. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing Dylan Higgins and Callum Price bolw. I think Price is a serious talent, I've seen him bowl and he's quicker than one may think. ( Anout 80-82mph) and we all know what Higgins can do. :D

The Zimbabwe under 19 team have left for a short tour of South Africa where they will play three matches against the Cape Cobras under 19 side. Not sure if will be get any scores from these matches but its good to see that the boys will be going into the world cup on the back on some competitive games.

Zim U19 beat Titans Cubs by 2 wickets.

In their third match of the SA Cubs week on Thursday, a brilliant 40 by Nathan Waller helped lead the Zimbabwe U19 side to a two wicket victory against Titans.

Winning the toss and electing to field first, Zimbabwe's two opening bowlers Callum Price and Tendai Chatara found their rhythm very early in the game and put pressure on the Titans top order to take early wickets. In no time the Zimbabweans had captured 3 vital wickets for less than 30 runs on the board, thanks to the opening bowlers fine spells and some brilliant fielding which resulted in run-outs being affected. At 50 for 4 it did not look like the Titans would score an imposing total as they had been doing successfully in other games. Their middle order however held on to bring the Titans score to 183 runs all out.

In reply the Zimbabweans lost their top order batsmen to a fired up Titans seam attack that saw Zimbabwe at one point having lost 4 wickets for just 28 runs. Just as the Titans did, the Zimbabwean middle order came to the rescue and a gallant 70 run partnership by Tinotenda Mutombodzi and Andrew Lindsay pulled the Zimbabweans back into the game. Sadly the two batsman finally fell to the Titans spinners with the team still requiring over 50 runs to win and 4 wickets left. Then enter Nathan Waller who in the morning had bowled very well. A similar performance was required of him this time with the bat and he did not disappoint. His brilliant 40 had a mixed bag of big hits to the boundary and saw Zimbabwe win the match by two wickets with an over to spare.

He sounds like a useful cricketer does Nathan Waller. Lets hope he fullfills his potential :)

Good morale boosting win for the lads, that gives them a win two lost two record against strong South African franchise youth teams which is decent enough.

We just need to get the batting sorted and starting converting 30's and 40's into big scores. Its good to see Nathen Waller and Andrew Lindsey in the runs as they did not have a great time against Pakistan and will be needed to contribute if we are going to get into the super 8's.

But looks like Callum Price and Tendai Chatara are forming a good partnership upfront which will be crucial on the green seeming wickets in the early morning in New Zealand. But the outcome of our world cup will be down to whether the batsman perform or not.

Im looking forward to this world cup as to be honest i find the under 19 world cup as good as senior world cup as its always interesting to see who are the next big things from the major sides.

On a Zimbabwe note it will be interesting to see how many of the squad will pursue a career in cricket after this tournament and which franchises pick up what players.

Yeah i agree. One player that jumps into my mind is Danial Landman of last years under 18's world cup in Malasia. He had/has great potential with both bat and ball, but decided to persue his cricketing career elsewhere. Fingers crossed that guys like Tendai Chatara, Callum Price, Dylan Higgins, Moore, Waller and co all look to play franchise cricket, as they guys are the future of zimbabwe. Good point raised Zimfan1. :D
